Kingdom Connections: Let’s Network!

Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

It was the last night of the 2010 Winter OIL conference as people were shouting out the schools/cities that they were from: “Dartmouth” “St. Louis College of Pharmacy” “Seton Hall (for the third time)” “George Mason” “University of Rochester”.

And sixty other schools similar to these (some larger and some smaller), each longing for revival. Two thoughts raced through my head. The first thought, “I wonder if some of these brothers/sisters feel alone in this race.” Some of them were the only ones representing their college fellowships. Some drove hundreds, if not thousands of miles because this is the only source of feeding that they will receive for the year.

As quickly as I thought this, I had a second thought. “We are in this together.” As people stood to receive prayer longing for God to work on their campus, hundreds of others knelt in prayer fighting alongside them fighting for the glory of the King. Scripture says that a cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12), but what then of a cord of a thousand strands?

We are in the process of networking college campuses to strengthen our cord. Especially for those of you who called out your campus/city during OIL 2010, please send your name, group name, campus/city, and in what capacity you are involved in leadership to OIL@WINTEROIL.ORG
